July 9, 2015 Newport Beach to Diamond Lake

Wet and foggy morning....decided it was time to head inland and try to get some sunshine....quick coffee and on the road...Stop at Seal Rock....yup...seals....

and one starfish..

.....a few birds...

and some crazy little things...not sure what they were...looked like you were walking in the sand...but they were...bugs...they are creepy mole crabs...http://www.beachconnection.net/news/mcrab050807_0253.htm
Image result for what are the little bugs on the beach that looks like sand but larger at seal rock

They were so creepy....I had the longest "eeby jeeby shake" of my life....!!!!

Some more ocean...more rain...more fog...
and a wet puppy....she is such a great traveller now...no barfing...no drooling....she's just happy to be along...well she looks sad here, but really she's happy !!!
Another stop in Florence....quaint little seaside town, cute shops, had some great fish and chips...dog friendly...love it...Gracie and I waiting at the bus stop!!! cool
Weather started to change again....sand dunes come and gone....end of the coast...saying goodbye to the ocean...not quite ready...but time is a ticking....lotta road left to travel...

Headed inland at Reedsport.....put on some miles...saw some great scenery...no good pull-offs...so no good pictures. The closer we got to Crater Lake, the colder it got.  Found a campsite at Diamond Lake State Park....and oh what a campsite.  Neither of us have ever in our lives seen such "happy hyper crazy hummingbirds".   There were I would say 25 or 30 hummingbird on "SPEED"!!!. They were buzzing around like crazy, the sounds were amazing. There were 2 that would buzz around low, then side by side they would zip up in the air, buzz around, then back down...again and again, all night long. It was amazing!!!

We had a great site on the water and a great Hummingbird Show
